Thanks to its expertise, it was possible to conceive and coordinate the construction of authentic factories of death, so functional and efficient that in the case of Auschwitz, a real complex with 3 main camps and more than 40 subcamps, allowed the systematic murder of more than 1,100,000 people.

The original plans and remains of the gas chambers, barracks, crematories, etc., that have been preserved to this day, stand today as one of the greatest evidences of the crimes committed by Nazi Germany.

The Auschwitz. Not long ago. Not far away. Exhibiton shows for the first time several models and original Auschwitz objects that refer to that architecture of horror; an element whose importance and transcendence will be explored by Professor Robert Jan van Pelt, Chief Curator of the exhibition, during this conference.
