It is advisable to come on weekdays if possible to avoid crowding.
The tour takes about 2 hours. Of course, you can stay longer in the exhibition if it is your desire. Just remember rooms closing time.
Tour guides (docents) are available to tour groups of 25 or more people. All groups must make a reservation, whether or not they elect to have a tour guide. Groups must use ONE form of payment for the entire group. Group Reservations must be made in advance; please call 805-577-4066 for information and/or assistance with your reservation. Ask about our reduced admission prices for groups (available for some special exhibits).
The exhibition is recommended for ages 12+.
Both the tour and audio guide have been developed by a multidisciplinary team of experts so every visitor can make the most of their visit to the Auschwitz exhibition and fully understand the facts it introduces. In fact, many of our visitors are secondary education students, who have in their history syllabus information on World War II.
Although the history of Auschwitz is challenging, we have developed this exhibition not only with profound respect for the victims, but also for our visitors. Care has been taken to ensure that there are no gratuitous depictions of violence. Every effort has been made to consider the emotional impact this story can have on our visitors, so that they can safely explore this history, seek to understand it better, and to make meaning for themselves.
The exhibition is open from March 24, 2023 for a limited time before visiting other cities around the world.
To ensure your preferred date and time, pre-purchased tickets are highly recommended.
You can use your phone or camera to take pictures, but flash, tripods, selfie sticks or any other devices that can disturb the other visitors’ movements or vision are not allowed. If you do take photos, remember to make sure your photos respect the memory of the victims. Share your experience on social media with the exhibition hashtag #NotlongagoNotfarway.
If it is deemed necessary to the proper operation of the exhibition or the optimal preservation of the exhibits, taking pictures may be temporarily forbidden.
Yes. The entire Museum and grounds (with the exception of the Air Force One interior) are wheelchair accessible. Visitor drop-off for patrons with disabilities is located at the entrance to the Library.
All the Auschwitz exhibition rooms are introduced by detailed descriptive texts. Also, all the displays and objects have individual captions and videos are subtitled.
There are no refunds and no cancellations except as expressly set forth in this Ticket Exchange Policy. The deadline for all exchanges is 24 hours prior to the date and time on the original ticket. To request a refund or exchange, please email visitorservices@reaganfoundation.org.
Due to conservation reasons, the temperature (21 degrees) inside the exhibition is kept constant. On warm days layered clothing is suggested.
It is allowed to bring a stroller to the exhibition, it’s important to note that the visit should be done calmly, collected and safely in order to not disturber the other visitors. Bringing children under the age of 12 years old is not recommended due to the fact that loud noises, playing and running can lead to you being asked to leave the exhibition.
